Showing up is 80% of life.
There is a saying that “showing up is eighty percent of life.”
In the coming weeks, we have two events where you can “show up” for your neighbors experiencing homelessness:
Sunday, Dec. 16 | Funk & Comedy Jam
The Home for Homeless [H4H] initiative has organized a one-time, special event featuring live music, comedy, poetry, and food at Howard Theater on Sunday, December 16 at 5:30pm. Tickets are $25 and proceeds will benefit Miriam’s Kitchen. Don’t miss out!
Thursday, Dec 20 – Friday, Dec. 21 | Homeless Memorial Vigil (free)
Please join us in supporting our partner, the People for Fairness Coalition, at the 6th annual Homeless Memorial Vigil, a series of events to remember those who have died without the dignity of the home. Your presence will help demand an end to homelessness in DC—a much needed message given DC Council’s recent vote to prioritize tax cuts for wealthy commercial properties over funding for life-saving housing units. If 80% of life is about showing up, then what is the rest? Follow through.
Supporters like you give us the resources, energy, and momentum needed to show up for our guests EVERY. SINGLE DAY. And we follow through with quality services from meals to housing.
Together we create a more inclusive community where everyone has a safe place to call home.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!
